This event will be governed by the 2017-2020 Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) with US SAILING prescriptions. (Modified rules are posted in the 2017 NOR)



This event is open to all O'pen BIC, RS Feva, 29er, Laser, and Hobie Sailing boats by invitation:


  • Open Bic A: Open Division
  • Open Bic B: U13 Division
  • RS Feva
  • 29er
  • Laser
  • Hobie Sailing

Registration is Open. Early bird pricing until January 8!

Print and sign the Hold Harmless Agreement for your minor attending without a parent present to sign at the event.


Saturday Jan 14

   8:00-9:00 am Set up boats / Check-in / Registration and breakfast at Stone Hedge Park

   9:30 am Skippers meeting

   10:30 am Warning signal: First Start

   Lunch on site

   5:30 pm to 9:00 pm WHITE Party for participants and their guests. Location to be announced.

Sunday Jan 15

   9:00 am Skippers meeting

   9:45 am Warning signal: First Start

   1:00 pm Lunch on site

   1:30 pm pack up boats not being used in the Dinghy Transpac & return barge and dock to HKBC

   5:00 pm Awards at Hawaii Kai Boat Club (The Shack)

5 races (weather permitting). Observe the revised 2011 Standing Sailing Instructions with the additional provision that beginner sailors will be placed as crew and may not have a chance to commandeer a boat in this event. Sailing Instructions will be available at the Skippers Meeting.


The venue will be at the Upper Hawaii Kai Marina.  Check-in on Jan 14 at Stone Hedge Park  @ Kalanipuu St, Hawaii Kai. The course will be specified on the day of the race at skippers meeting.

Sailing Instructions, including a map of the course, will be available at the Skippers Meeting.



Individual scoring for each race, low point scoring system (1pt 1st, 2pts 2nd, etc).

The Baron’s Cup will hold 10 races, conditions permitting, five races Saturday and five races Sunday.



Competitors will be recognized by 1 award from 1 division.  Deeper awards may be given depending on the number of participants.

Overall fleet:  Baron's Cup (lowest points overall)

All other classes with a minimum of 3 entries:  1st, 2nd, 3rd

Winners will be announced at Hawaii Kai Boat Club awards ceremony.

The top 10 overall O'pen BIC finishers will qualify to participate in the Dingy Transpac Race on Jan 16.
