This event will be governed by the 2013-2016 Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) with US SAILING prescriptions, however good seamanship and common sense are the order of the day. Protests will be heard only in the case of a collision resulting in serious injury or damage, modifying rule 60. Class rules will not apply.



This event is open to all sailing vessels under 20' in length per approval of the race committee:


  • RS Feva
  • Laser
  • Nacra
  • Top 10 overall Open BIC Baron's Cup finishers will qualify: U13 & Open Classes
  • Open Class (Note: there will be a division for any class boat provided there are 3 or more boats in such class)

Entry Fee: $30.00 / $20.00 for Baron's Cup Participants / $40 for late registration

Registration is open now. Register by January 8 for early bird pricing!

Print and sign the Hold Harmless Agreement for your minor attending without a parent present to sign at the event.


Monday January 16 (subject to change; please check back prior to race date)

  • 7:30 to 8:30 am Registration and set up boats
  • 8:30 am Skippers meeting for small boats (O'pen BIC, RS Feva, El Toro, Topper, Laser... at HKBC / simultaneous skippers meeting at Maunalua Bay Boat ramp for Hobie Sailing, sailing canoes, I14's, 420's
  • 9:30 am Warning signal - 3 min start sequence
  • 12:30 pm ETA of first arrivals
    ** proceed to Alawai - DLNR dock and boat ramp
  • 1:30 pm Pack boats 
  • 2:00 pm Burger / hot dog buffet lunch at Hawaii Yacht Club and awards (purchase lunch via the Register Now button above - lunch must be purchased in advance)
    • $5 for Dinghy Transpac participants, Official Race Committee members, and Safety Boat Captains
    • $15 for all others; including safety boat crew and passengers



Race from Hawaii Kai – Maunalua Bay to Waikiki - Ala Wai channel entrance. Observe the revised 2011 Standing Sailing Instructions. O'pen BIC sailors must participate in Baronʼs Cup regatta and finish in a top 10 overall position to to qualify for the Dinghy Transpac. SIʼs will be available at the Skippers Meeting.

RACING AREA: All vessels must stay well clear of all surf zones.


THE START: Between Inflatable Pin and Race Committee Boat.

Mark 1: Keep red channel mark to Port

Mark 2: Keep outside green channel mark to Starboard

Mark 3: Keep Diamond Head Buoy to Port

THE FINISH: Between Magic Island Point and the Red Channel Mark at entrance to Ala Wai.

TIME LIMIT: The time limit for the race will be 3.5 hours from the first start.

WIND LIMIT: Min 8 knots - Max 20 knots

SCORING: Individual scoring. Low point scoring system (1pt 1st, 2pts 2nd, etc).
