All HKBC classes are now hosted at Hawaii Yacht Club in Waikiki

We've *temporarily* lost our home in Hawaii Kai, but are working hard to get our kids back on the marina waters. In the meantime, all HKBC classes will be run by Hawaii Yacht Club (HYC).

SAILOR SPONSORSHIPS

Financial assistance for sailors are available through the Hawaii Kai Boat Club Foundation.

HKBC’s Foundation was started to support HKBC’s growth, help fund sailors as they venture off island for sailing regattas, and promote fun and safe ocean activities.

In the first 3 months of 2020, the HKBCF supported sailors competing in the New Zealand O’pen Skiff Nationals, helped fund the HKCB Ring of Fire regatta, and introduced youth from the Windward Boys & Girls Club in a 4-week sailing camp. The sailors also participated in fundraising via Kahala Mall’s Verry Merry Event and through shopping via Amazon Smile.

Recently, in a partnership with a grant from the Central Pacific Bank, HKBCF has launched Scholarship Fund for sailors needing financial assistance with their quarterly sailing classes.

Students and their parents should complete the HKBCF SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION for consideration. This scholarship is based on financial need, thus, we may be in touch with additional questions as we review applications.

Additionally, the Foundation offers assistance for:

  • O’Pen Skiff regattas (Dinsmoor Cup in Lahaina, US National and World Championships)

  • FEVA, Laser, 29er, WASZP regattas (National & International)

  • WASZP shipping assistance via the HKBCF Shimmin Foiling Fund

  • WASZP and Windfoil competitions via the HKBCF Shimmin Foiling Fund

  • US Sailing Certifications / Education for HKBC coaches & sailors

We thank you, in advance, for all donations and contributions. If you have any fundraising ideas or want to spearhead a program for HKBCF, please contact us at hawaiikaiboatclub@gmail.com

Donations

Hawaii Kai Boat Club's Youth Sailing Program has been operating since 2009. It is a non-profit sailing school that has success in teaching children to sail in the O'pen Skiff, RS Feva, and 29er skiffs. The windsurfing program has expanded from the Techno 293 and Kona One boards to the popular windfoil boards.  Student join us as young as 8 years old, and HKBC has produced the Male World Champion, Top North American Girl, and several North American Champion in the O'pen Skiff. Currently. HKBC is one of a handful of sailing clubs that offer the new Olympic class of windfoiling. HKBC leads the way in what the youth want in sailing nationwide!
