HYC Class Descriptions
Windfoiling on HKBC equipment is a fun way to get foiling without buying entry level gear!
This is an intermediate class open to sailors who completed the beginner level. Intermediate sailors are those that have taken 3 or more semesters, can confidently sail upwind, right their boat, and complete a course without an instructor's assistance. You must be advised by the sailing coach that you are able to be in this course.
This is a class for intermediate and advanced sailors. The focus is on racing, tactics and fine tuning the boat and sailing skills. Sailors will improve their knowledge of US and World Sailing rules while testing their skills in the gusty Marina, on the rolling seas of the bay, or on the large swells of the open ocean. Coach approval is required to register for the class.
RS FEVA XL Class:
3-SAIL 12' SKIFF IDEAL FOR TEENS
The double-handed RS Feva is a fun boat that offers beginner to advanced sailors a range of skillsets that transfer to many boats including high school and college sailing fleets. Most of the classes are held on the Bay on the 6 Club boats. No experience is necessary. The double-handed boats are also ideal to learn with a friend.
29er HIGH PERFORMANCE SKIFF
The 29er requires advanced boat handling skills and is offered in the RS Feva Class. As beginner sailors master the RS Feva, they will have the opportunity to advance on the Club 29er. HKBC sailors go on to race the high performance skiffs.
